What is RAMP?

Learn what makes Laird RAMP modules so unique.

This week, Embedded Wireless Solutions of Laird released a video that highlights RAMP modules.  Laird RAMP modules are industrial wireless modules that operate in the ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) band. Laird’s modules provide solutions for machine-to-machine (M2M) applications required to transmit serial data wirelessly over long distances with high reliability. RAMP modules are capable of operating in a point to point or point to multipoint network, virtually supporting an unlimited number of nodes in a network. The modules meet requirements for industrial temperature ranges and are a reliable wireless link for communication. With the core technology, Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS), Laird's modules ensure higher reliability of transmissions. OEMs can leverage the RAMP module’s unique strengths to achieve wireless communication at ranges of up to 30 km. The design strengths of Laird's RAMP modules make it ideal for many wireless implementations such as cable replacement for digital signage, real time monitoring and updating for multiple data acquisition points, and more.
