An enhanced version of the ConnexLink Setup Wizard is now available, making serial cable replacement even easier for a variety of industrial applications. A user, with little to no experience, can follow the ConnexLink Setup Wizard to complete everything from first time setup to testing of ConnexLinks. Now, the enhanced ConnexLink Setup Wizard provides a step by step guide for replacing a device in a network, saving, and restoring configurations. The Wizard provides anyone with the right tools to handle multiple situations from setting up a new network to replacing a device, or adding a new ConnexLink to their network. These changes can be made faster and easier than ever before, ensuring their network is up and running at all times.
The Wizard, which provides a user-friendly and intuitive experience for first time configuration, now offers a Cloning option for ConnexLinks. Cloning provides a secure and stable framework for adding to or restoring a network to working conditions in worst-case scenarios where a device is damaged. A client's settings can be cloned to another client, a server to a server, or a peer to a peer.
In addition, users can create a complement of a current ConnexLink in the network, creating a server from a client or a client from a server. Creating a complement provides a simple way to restore a network in worst case scenarios when a server or client is damaged and needs to be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible. Other features available in the latest version of the Wizard allow for backup and restoration of configuration settings. A user can save a current configuration file of a ConnexLink. In addition, this file can later be restored to a ConnexLink on the network.
The Wizard pairs ConnexLinks for use in critical serial cable replacement applications including weigh stations, irrigation systems, and digital signage such as scoreboards, road signs, and advertising. ConnexLinks allow users to quickly and cost effectively upgrade wired applications to cordless operation in industrial and commercial environments. Despite a variety of wireless solutions, several critical devices in these applications still rely on serial cables to receive and send data. However, serial cables can be difficult to install, expensive, and frustrating to maintain or replace. The flexibility and economical price of ConnexLinks bypasses these issues saving users time, money, and resources.
