Recap of Laird’s Webinar: Making the Connected Hospital a Reality

On December 12, Embedded Wireless Solutions of Laird hosted a webinar titled, Making the Connected Hospital a Reality: Medical Grade Wi-Fi for Hospitals. The webinar featured guest speakers Bill Quatier, solution Architect of Welch Allyn and Chris Downey, Product Manager of Laird.

The webinar focused on the understanding of mobility in a hospital, which is one of the most challenging RF environments. Maintaining a constant connection is crucial when dealing with medical devices, which must be continuously connected anywhere, anytime. The webinar covered important topics such as 5 GHz operation, testing procedures for medical devices, and security. Bill and Chris explained the details surrounding these topics and more, allowing attendees from varying professions and backgrounds to follow along and learn about the challenges and benefits of Wi-Fi mobility in a hospital.

"We had a great turnout and want to thank everyone who attended! We appreciate the time you spent with us and the questions many of you submitted", said Chris Downey." 2014 will be another exciting year with Laird, as we look forward to continuing this discussion about Wi-Fi connectivity in hopsitals."
