What is a PIFA?
The FlexMIMO 6E is a flexible, MIMO-capable Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA). What makes a PIFA so unique is its internal ground plane, which makes it much more resilient to interference from the enclosure within which it is mounted. PIFA antennas are easy to integrate, even on surfaces with a convex or concave curvature, and our PIFA antennas are adhesive-backed to make them extremely easy to mount.
The FlexMIMO antennas patented design aligns two PIFA antennas in a carefully-calibrated orientation that provides superior connectivity in an incredibly space-constrained form factor. This means it’s trivially easy to integrate 2x2 MIMO into your embedded design with the confidence that your antennas do not interfere with each other and resist detuning from nearby components and enclosure materials. As so much of the future of Wi-Fi includes leveraging features like MIMO for exceptional throughput, beamforming, and other optimizations, the FlexMIMO 6E is the simplest and most effective way to bring the performance of Wi-Fi 6 to your embedded wireless devices.
