Laird to Present on Making the Connected Hospital a Reality

On November 5-7, Laird will walk the floor at Wireless Medical Devices East Conference in Boston. Wireless Medical Devices East will showcase some of the top experts in the wireless medical device industry. These speakers include Dan Pettus of CareFusion, Inc., Phil Raymond of Philips Healthcare, and Ken Fuchs of Mindray. The top of mind issues for the conference include regulatory impacts on the mobile health market, transformation of the way healthcare is delivered due to wireless technology, interoperability across safety-critical medical devices, and the future of the wireless health care sector.

“At this show Laird will be collaborating with other industry experts to formalize the vision of Making the Connected Hospital a Reality. This vision looks to provide best practices for hospitals and device manufacturers to ensure secure and reliable wireless connectivity for medical devices,” said Chris Downey, Product Manager for Embedded Wireless Solutions.

Centering on the integration of medical devices and information systems, MDCC will take place November 21-22 in Herndon, Virginia. Chris Downey, Product Manager for Laird’s Embedded Wireless Solutions will present on the adoption of Bluetooth technology for medical devices, with a focus on design considerations, managing power consumption, and deployment considerations to ensure reliable wireless systems.
